The Poetry Place #15 with Will Stone & Christopher James
March 28 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
This month’s episode of The Poetry Place, at 4pm on Sunday March 28th, will feature guest poets Christopher James and Will Stone.
Christopher was the winner of the adult category of Corsham’s StoryTown Peacocks poetry competition and will share his winning poem with us – and lots of others, including the one that won him first place in the prestigious National Poetry Competition a few years ago, and a fabulous tale of an abandoned piano.
Will Stone, who is a poet, essayist and literary translator, will share poems from his poetry collections, including the latest, The Slowing Ride, and we’ll also be hearing from the very talented 17-year-old Holly Harrison, winner of StoryTown’s 11-17s poetry competition category, and Sophia Walker, 10, who scooped the Under 11s prize. As usual we’ll also have lots of open mic readings from some local and not-so-local poets – listen out for Rebecca Gethin, Ann Preston, Pratibha Veronica Castle, Ray Fussell, Eileen Anne Gordon, Vivian Cruise and Sue Proffitt.
The Poetry Place is a monthly poetry magazine programme bringing you news, views, readings and interviews from today’s poetry community, both locally and further afield. Presented by Dawn Gorman and Peter O’Grady, it brings inspiration and food for thought for everyone, from those who enjoy listening to the occasional poem, to people writing and publishing their own work.
